AUSSIES ARE FED UP.  HERE’S HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED

Australia is the second largest consumer of single-use plastic packaging, recycling only 18% of it. It’s time for change.

This year, we have a critical opportunity to tackle wasteful packaging.

We’ve built a powerful national movement of activists, NGOs, associations, governments, and businesses committed to ending plastic pollution. Now, we have a small window to push for major policy changes, and we need your help to amplify the call.

Key Facts:

  • Each Australian produces 2,280 kg of waste annually.

  • 1.2 million tonnes of plastic packaging becomes waste each year.

  • Less than 20% of plastic discarded is recovered or recycled.

  • Just 6% of packaging contains recycled plastic.

  • Industry generates 6.7 million tonnes of packaging annually.

Australia’s waste crisis is escalating due to weak regulations and industry failures. Together, we can change the tide on single-use plastics by introducing strong Product Stewardship Policies in Australia.
